Help Us Turn Tarrant Teal!
Did you know 33% of all Texans experience sexual assault in their lifetime?
Each year national and local leaders proclaim the month of April as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). This recognition is meaningful in that it reaffirms the work of advocates and it honors the bravery and the struggles of survivors.
The first Tuesday of every April is the SAAPM Day of Action. The Women’s Center invites you to engage your voice and support sexual assault awareness and prevention by simply wearing teal on the first Tuesday in April. Share pics on social media with the hashtags of #SAAPM and #turnTarrantteal. By wearing teal, you are signaling that you support survivors and are a safe person to talk to if they need to reach out.
Together, we can bring awareness to this issue, show our support for survivors and unite to take a stand against sexual violence!
